Symposium XX, IUMRS-ICEM2012
Many symposia XX* are planning to award for Encouragement of Research in Materials Science. The award committee of the respective symposium seeks to recognize young scientists of exceptional ability who make excellent poster or oral presentations in Symposium XX of IUMRS-ICEM2012.

The process of selection is based on the rules and regulations, which have been established by MRS-Japan so as to award young scientists.

Award for Encouragement of Research
by Symposium XX at IUMRS-ICEM2012
- This prescript has been established on the basis of the Award for Encouragement of Research of MRS-Japan so as to award young scientists , which will be presented by Symposium XX of IUMRS-ICEM2012.
- This award is to be presented to young scientists who have made on excellent poster/oral presentation in IUMRS-ICEM2012. The main purposes are to encourage further progress and to commend the achievements of the young scientists.
- Young scientists who have made poster/oral presentations in Symposium XX of IUMRS-ICEM2012 are eligible to apply for this award if they are;
(1) Registrant of the paper, and (2) Actual presenter. - The young scientists (applicants) consists of the following two categories.
(1) Undergraduate, Master course, or PhD course students. Students are not subjected to the age limitation.
(2) General scientists under 36 years old as of the end of 2012. - Those who won the Gold or Silver Award of IUMRS-ICEM2012 are unqualified to win this Award by Symposium XX of IUMRS-ICEM2012.
- The Award Selection Committee nominates candidates, which should not exceed 10% of the total member of applicants, and recommends them to the Board of Trustees.
- The Board of Trustees deliberates the recommendation of the Award Selection Committee and nominates the awardees.
- This rule may be altered by the Board of Trustees.
