Scope:
Recently, in the interdisciplinary field between biotechnology and nanotechnology, many devices including artificial organs, advanced medical systems, bio fuel cell, cellular micro patterning chip, and bioelectronics have been studied for realizing sustainable human society. Perspective progress requires some advanced technologies such as novel materials, super high sensitive and localized observtion method, and surface modification. We believe two key words are playing importat role here. One is biomolecule having unique and significant functionality and interfaces composed of biomolecules and platform. We plan the session entitled “biointerfaces and bioelectronics” in IUMRS-ICEM 2012 proposing an occasion to discuss with the recent trends and results in nano-biotechnology on interfaces through some quite different fields in science and technologies with a worldwide vision.
