Scope:

Science and technology for soft materials which stem from polymeric materials are to be focused on this session from both fundamental and practical viewpoints. Polymer is available as soft materials of elastomers, gels, ultra-thin membranes, and colloids. This symposium discusses soft materials showing various functions with diverse forms such as solution, surface, interface, and bulk. Also, they have potentials to lead to attractive applications including biomedical, diagnostic, electronic, environmental, and structural materials. Topics will cover various advanced and emerging applications such as energy substrates, fuel cells, biopolymers, micro particles, self-assemble materials, tissue engineering, drug delivery, bio-medical medium, and bio-related systems.

Topics:

1. Synthesis and characterization of soft materials
2. Structural and functional design
3. Role and function of soft material in material science and technology
4. Application in various fields
