Scope:
An interface between materials and biomolecules, that is, a biointerface, plays an important role in developing the functional biomedical devices such as tissue-engineered medical material, surgical equipment, artificial organ, drug delivery system, sensor material, and DNA and protein chip. Therefore the understanding and controlling of biointerface allows us to provide the advanced biomaterials design. However, the understanding of biointerface has not been enough because of the complexity of biosystem and also dynamic fluctuation of soft-substances such as liquid crystal and colloids. The interdisciplinary study is urgently needed . In this session, we aim to show a millstone toward development of functional interfaces (biointerface, soft interface and biomimetics) based on physics, chemistry and biology for smart-interface.
